Abstract/Description
Since the cultivation of root and tuber crops in Belize is primarily at the subsistence level, there are no available data on research, production, and demand. Several data are presented on area sown, cropping systems, and socioeconomic profile of the farmers. Finally, the marketing of root crops and the factors affecting price fluctuation are analyzed and discussed. (CIAT)
Puesto que el cultivo de raices y tuberculos en Belice es principalmente a nivel de subsistencia, no hay datos disponibles sobre investigacion, produccion y demanda. Se presentan algunos datos sobre area cultivada, sistemas de cultivo y perfil socioeconomico de los agricultores. Finalmente se analizan y discuten el mercadeo de los cultivos de raices y los factores que afectan la fluctuacion de precios. (CIAT)
