System Review Follow-Up: Integrated Natural Resource Managementen
Paper prepared by the Center Directors Committee at the request of the CGIAR Consultative Council on Recommendation 5 of the third System Review, concerning natural resource management research, together with a TAC commentary. The comments of Working Group 1 at ICW98 on Recommendation 5 are also attached. The CDC supported the conceptual framework of integrated NRM, but not the establishment of an additional network on that subject. The concept should permeate the work of the system. A CDC Committee on Sustainability and Environment would take leadership in sharing experience in this field. TAC found the CDC paper a good beginning for a response on the subject.Agenda document at the CGIAR mid term meeting in May 1999, discussed under the heading of Consultative Council Propositions on Science.en
